Keep looking to find complementing media/image for eventual post Bloom's Taxonomy paragraph. hw: The Age of Innocence (ch 15-18). Discuss The Age of Innocence. We will start posting your Bloom's Taxonomy prose on the blog this week or next depending on our progress with Wharton.

Week 3

12/13, Wed. Write 40 min. in-class AP style prompt.
12/15, Thursday. Vacation starts at lunch time. Watch more of The Age of Innocence DVD on your own, which is probably at your local library. Netflix has it, too.

1/3/2018, Wed. Bring This I Believe essay. Also bring Volume C to class. We will review Jewett's "A White Heron" and assign that as well as the AP Handout for homework. Look ahead to quizzes next week: Prepare for Fiction Terms Quiz on Monday, Jan 8th. (see AP literary terms word document). Unit 1-6 Voc. Quiz on Thursday, Jan. 11th.
1/4/18, Thursday. We will discuss Jewett and connect her again to Cather; we'll also look over our Blooms Taxonomy work. Hw: Reread A White Heron and test yourself on the AP Questions from the AP handout on Jewett. Read Cather's
My Antonia Introduction (very important frame of this novel) through to the end of Chapter 12 in Book I. Note that this novel resides in Volume D.

You can send it earlier, too. Those with US AP History papers can consult me on an individual basis for another deadline or can keep up the good time-management work and hand it in early. That individual conversation about a different deadline should happen by Thursday, 2/15.

Discuss these things before Spring Break: Review AP style Multiple Choice Assessment; discuss how a JSTOR article of literary criticism (not a book review) should be attained by the start of spring term for term paper project. Assign Biblical Allusions topics. Future considerations: Biblical Allusions Project (Individuals will select one Foster motif in one Bible story and connect it to several examples in American literature; more details to come.) Review an AP Exam test preparation book. You can also check other types of test prep books out of your local library.
